Home From Here focuses on mental health, music, the creative process, and anything uplifting and funny. With his warm and inviting presence, host John Burton fosters an environment of openness and vulnerability, inviting guests from all walks of life to share their stories and expertise on his show. His innate ability to infuse humor and light-heartedness into his discussions creates a safe and uplifting space where listeners can find solace, inspiration, and a renewed sense of hope
Through engaging interviews with renowned experts and artists and some just normal people, "Home From Here" uncovers the transformative potential of creativity and the resilience of the human spirit.
John Burton is the creator and host of Home From Here. John's personal and dramatic journey through a mental health crisis of his own serves as the backdrop for his conversations with politicians, musicians, therapists, and his own family.
"The world starts in your head," John said, "and we need to be able to be as open as possible about our mental health. I LOVE doing this show, and am so proud of my guests, who are brave people who talk, sing, and joke about their own journeys."
John is also a professional musician, writer, dad, surfer, songwriter, and clothes hound, kinda. You can learn more about John below.
There are a few things. First, if it is okay to be it, it is okay to say it. I was crazy, so I can say the word crazy.
Next. Politics. Both sides now. One of the reasons for doing the show independently is so that both sides can have a safe space. We should do that everywhere.
Next. Music heals, for me, but whatever YOU make is gonna heal for you.
Next. No more music competitions.
Next. If you don't speak your mind, you will lose both your speech and your mind.
Last. The best thing you can do with your life is throw something uplifting out there.
